Week 5 Marathon Training Commences with a swim!

I felt slightly jaded this morning with jet-lag and was faced with a mountain of ironing to get through BUT ...

I am feeling slightly stressed about the Coniston Open Water One Mile Swim I am doing in less than 2 weeks so I forced myself to abandon the ironing and to go to the pool to get some lengths in!

Although I swam everyday in the sea and in the pool whilst I was on holiday it wasn't "serious" swimming so I need to get "swim-fit" again and quickly!

I arrived at the local pool to discover that there was a lifesaving course on in the pool and there was just one lane roped off for "the public" although when I checked opening times on the internet it was advertised as being open to the public which I think is a little naughty of them!

Luckily there was only me and another girl in the roped off lane so it wasn't a problem, but if it had been a rainy day it might have been a different story!

I managed to do 82 lengths which is 1.27 miles or 2050 metres so I am pleased with this as a start back session!

Later on I took the dog for a nice 2.5 mile walk along the river in the sunshine - not quite the same as a beach walk in the Caribbean but hey-ho it was still nice all the same!
