Tonight was the Tri Club "Interval /speed training" running session but I opted out and decided to go for a run on my own!
"LAZY!" "COWARD!" "PATHETIC" I hear you cry!
I have a valid excuse ... or at least that's my story!
I decided that since I ran the Langdale 10K race on Saturday at a faster pace than my usual training run I wouldn't push my luck by doing speed work on top just in case my Achilles or ankle or thigh decided to rebel!
So instead I went out for an easy paced run and managed 5.14 miles at an average pace of 9.19 minute miles! It was a cold but dry evening and I enjoyed my run and didn't feel any guilt at all about missing the speed session!
Unfortunately it was the last tri running session until the 7th January so I will have to somehow force myself to do some speed intervals on my own in the meantime! Watch this space!
