A not so slow slow run!

After a few days of lovely Spring weather someone has stolen the sunshine and transferred us back to Winter!

So out with the T shirts and three quarter's pants and back in with the fleecy leggings and many layers!

The plan said a 4 mile slow run, which I wasn't looking forward to as even in the house I couldn't get warm!

However, by 6 O Clock I decided I had best get my backside moving before it started to rain as it was looking that way inclined.

By the time I was running it was dark which stopped me looking at my Garmin!

Fortunately, once I got running I soon warmed up and enjoyed the freedom of not worrying about the pace.

When I got home the route I had taken was slightly short of the 4 miles prescribed at 3:88 miles but the pace was slightly faster than the slow prescribed!  I was amazed to see I had run an average 8:49 minute mile pace when in fact I had felt like I was plodding!

So that's my last run until Trimpell 20 on Sunday which I am using as an experimental training run for Manchester marathon in just 3 weeks time!

The aim is to maintain an even pace throughout keeping at around a 9:08 minute mile pace which would give me a 3:03 finish for the 20 miles and more importantly give me a better indication of whether a sub 4 marathon is possible.

I mustn't get carried away and set off at 8:30 minute mile pace and then die at mile 13 and end up at an 11 minute mile pace!

However, On Sunday I plan to give it everything I have!
