Having a birthday on Saturday and partying hard on Saturday night just hasn't agreed with me!

Photo: Anyone else relate? :)
It must be because I am now one year older ... I am absolutely exhausted!

Last night I came in from work with the plan to run straight away after walking the dog, and then get on with my housework etc but I just couldn't get the motivation to move once I sat down!

I had the ironing pile looking at me, dust taunting me and the dishwasher waiting to be emptied but still I sat ... and sat ... and sat!  The fact that this months Trail Running Magazine had arrived through the post didn't help matters either!

Eventually at around half past 5, after far too much sitting around I gave myself a good talking too and managed to get myself changed and out the door for a run!

Once on my way my energy levels seemed to pick up and I felt fine. It helped that it was a lovely evening and the sun was still shining!

I managed to run 6.07 miles at an average 8.33 minute mile pace which wasn't too shabby!

I set the pacer man on my Garmin for the first time and input an average of 8:30 minute miles so I wasn't too far off keeping up with him!

It was quite motivating to see him "running" so I could keep an eye on how far behind him I was! I will definitely try using it again!

There are so many different features to try out on my Garmin ... it's all very exciting!

Tonight there was a local 10K race on which I had planned to run but for many reasons when it came to it, despite practising the route last week I decided against bothering!

So, the plan instead was to run a mile as fast as I could (after doing a warm up) so I can keep track of whether I'm getting faster over the course of time but ...

I was cold, I was tired, it was raining and I really couldn't be bothered ... so I didn't!

I can't even say that the ironing and cleaning won because they were ignored yet again! Tonight's routine went very much like last nights ... I sat ... and I sat .... and I sat!

However I did manage to get myself to Yoga for a good stretch and relaxation which I really needed and enjoyed.

I'm hoping my energy levels return to normal very soon!
Off The Couch UK
Tomorrow is week 2 for my "Off the Couch" running group.  The weather forecast is awful so it will be interesting to see how motivated they are and how many turn up in the rain!

The way I'm feeling this week will I actually turn up in the rain?!

Watch this space!
