Unfortunately my "Off the Couch" running club didn't happen today as it was raining and they all voted that they didn't want to run in the rain!
After being so impressed with them last week I am bitterly disappointed with them all!
Lets see what happens next week!
So I was on my own ... again!
Inspired by Roger Bannister I decided to see just how fast I could run a mile!
So to warm up I ran 1.5 miles to the planned start of my mile loop, and after resetting my Garmin I was off at a sprint!
By now the heavy rain had subsided and it was just drizzling but there was big puddles on the pavement to navigate!
I was determined to give it my best shot and was pleased to have managed a 7:42 minute mile!
I will repeat the same loop on a regular basis as this now gives me a benchmark to work from to see if I am improving in the future.
After having a couple minutes rest I headed home and ran 2.07 miles to cool down! You can view my 1 minute loop here.
In total I ran 4.57 miles and then later on I even managed to go to Pilates and work on my core! I'm not sure my abdominal muscles will thank me for it tomorrow!
