Day 11 Janathon - BRRRRRRRRR!!!

Someone said to me yesterday when I was stating my frustration at not improving my pace much that it was early in the season! QUESTION FOR ALL YOU RUNNERS (that is if anyone actually reads this!) - Is there a SEASON for running?  I thought running (a bit like football on the telly!) was an all year round activity!! If it does have seasons, another question - WHEN WILL I BE IN SEASON? lol

After a day at work, I came home and donned my wellies to take the dog out for a walk, and although I was well wrapped up I was freeeeezing cold! The dog got a very short, brisk walk, which being the lazy hound he is had him wagging his tail with glee when he realised we were on our way home! I ended up doing just over half a mile, I don't usually log such pathetic distances but perhaps I should start, they all add up in the end!!! :-)

I got back to my nice warm house, and sat down with a cup of coffee and my book - fatal mistake! I had to give myself a good stern talking to to get myself upstairs into my running gear and back out into the big wide freezing cold world!  The dog looked at me slyly through sleepy eyes and he was no doubt thinking "Rather you than me!", hence why he is overweight and on a diet! Perhaps I should invent a dogathon to see how many miles he can walk in a month, and how many pounds he can lose!

Anyhow, by the time I had had my coffee, stuffed my face with chocolate birthday cake and got changed into my running gear it was raining, but maybe this had warmed it up a bit because it didn't seem nearly as chilly!  That will teach me to dither around - If I'd gone straight away I wouldn't have got wet! My leg felt OK tonight however another problem developed, a blister on my right sole!  I have worn the same trainers for many miles with no problems so I don't know why they have decided to rub tonight - perhaps I had a crinkle in my sock!  I will have to get some "Compeed"  plasters before I hit the streets tomorrow night! I would like to say I ran at a slow pace because I was aiming for a rest run pace, but this would be a lie - I thought I was running at a reasonable pace but evidently not!!

Bring on tomorrow - see what I can do!

Running Miles: 4.00 miles
Time: 41 minutes, 40 seconds.
Average pace: 10.10
Average speed: 5.7 MPH

Walking Miles: 0.52 miles

Total Janathon Miles:  58.5
